Orioles beat reporter Brittany Ghiroli recently took a stab at answering readers questions earlier this week.  At the top of the list was how Buck Showalter might be able to influence a big name free agent (or two) to come to the Orioles.  Most stayed away and perennial losers like the Washington Nationals were able to steer talent once they opened up their pocketbook.  I like the miracle worker answer.  The Orioles are going to be good in a few years if they give this group a chance, you’d think some players would be able to recognize that.

She also thinks Kevin Millwood isn’t in the Orioles plans even though they’re looking for another starting pitcher.  It looks like the Orioles might be just as likely to trade for a pitcher though then take a chance on some of the mid-tier talent that’s left out there.  She also dismisses Zach Britton pitching with the Orioles at least in early 2011.
