There’s a terrible rumor that Erik Bedard isn’t going to sign with the Orioles beyond his 2009 obligation when he’s eligible for free agency.  You hate to see your home grown stars leave but this definitely means that Bedard is going be shopped.  He’s one of the best left handed starters out there but the injury concerns will probably mean the Orioles won’t get full value for him.

It’s too bad because Bedard is one of my favorite players but can you blame him.  The Orioles haven’t done a good job of putting a winning team around and he pitched like an ace for a big chunk of last year.  The good news is, the Orioles could restock and hopefully get some solid players in exchange for Bedard but an front line starter is pretty much irreplaceable.
