Game 142 Recap-

The Baltimore Orioles used an seven-run sixth inning to  end a eight-game losing streak ,defeating the Cleveland Indians 14-3 Monday night at Camden Yards. DH Aubrey Huff, back from seeing his son born, hit a grand slam while CF Adam Jones added 4 rbi. LF Luke Scott and C Ramon Hernandez homered as well while LH Garret Olson(9-7) earned the win.

Cleveland jumped out to a 3-1 lead into the 4th, with Indians 2b  Asdrubal Cabrera drove in runs with seperate hits to lead the Tribe attack. Scott cut the lead in half with a solo shot in the 4th.  Cleveland RH Fausto Carmona(8-6,4.88) lost the game with one big inning as the Os exploded for the 7 runs. Rookie Oscar Salazar(2 run)  and Jones had rbi singles before Huff hit his granny off of RH Juan Rincon(5.88).

LH Garret Olson was solid for 6 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs with 6 Ks and 3 walks. This was a marked improvement over his past 4 starts(0-2,11.81). ” My biggest focus tonight [was] not trying to press, just going out there and being myself the whole time,” Olson said. “Not trying to do too much, being aggressive and letting my defense play behind me. When you do that and you keep the team close as the game goes on, eventually the bats will start to come through. And sure enough, they did.”

Star of the Game-

Huff-  31 homers and 102 rbi from the 4 spot- and a team leader.  “We’ve been repetitive in saying he’s been a legitimate No. 4 hitter for us,” Manager Dave Trembley said. “He’s just been real good, especially with guys on base.”
