Orioles Top Eleven Prospects

by @ 5:51 pm. Filed under 2008 Orioles

The World Series is in the books so now it’s time to look towards the 2008 season.  Orioles fans probably expect more of the same but they do have some bright spots coming up through the minors and Kevin Goldstein highlights these in his latest Future Shock.  He gives Matt Wieters a five star rating and the Orioles first round pick this past spring will hopefully be well worth the $6 million signing bonus we gave him.

The next three players on the list are all right handed pitchers with Chorye Spoone and Radhames Liz both getting four stars.  We saw Liz this year with the Orioles but Goldstein thinks he’ll start back at Triple A to start the season.  Rounding out the top five are Jake Arrieta and outfielder Nolan Reimold.

It’s always interesting to see how the various lists compares.  The top few are usually pretty consistent but the bottom five are usually a crap shoot.
